WORK
- 04/2009
House MD is a top rated TV show about a doctor (Hugh Laury) who solves medical cases with his Sherlock Holmes like powers of deduction and wit. While working at Encore Hollywood, I created several shots for this show, usually doing then entire shot from boards through 3D and compositing using Max and Fusion.
- 10/2007
For this show, which envisioned what would happen to the world if all people simply vanished, I created a few shots showing decay of our national monuments. It aired on the History Channel
- 09/2008
For the remake of Knight Rider, I worked with a very small vfx team, Master Key Films, with just a few 3d artists to create all of the 3d vfx for this episodic TV show. Included are some of the shots that I worked on and a few experiments.
- 10/2007
Alien Planets is an episode of the TV show "The Universe" that airs on the History Channel. It is about about newly discoverd planets that have been detected by science yet not directly obseverd. Flight 33 hired me to visualize these exotic gas giants. I created about 40% of the shots of this one hour episode working at home without assistance.
- 05/2007
Carbon Nation is a documentary in progress by Peter Byck on the topic
of what to do about global warning. I created this opening for his
trailer in a few days on spec, so it is just a rough placeholder until
he gets funding. I wanted to include it here because I used Vue to
create the landscapes. This is my first effort using Vue and I must say
that I love it. - 06/2007
For this promotional video clip for the movie Transformers, I had to simulate the magic trick of flipping the building to create a double pyramid. To make the integration appear convincing, I used the Mental ray renderer, matched the perspective, and phototextured the top pyramid with the video from the lower pyramid. After careful massaging in After Effects, the effect appeared acceptable. I worked with Glenn Grillo on this shot, and I did the rendering, 3d setup, and some of the post work.
- 12/2005
Peter Byck, the director of this short, I-Nasty, hired me to do all the animation and effects for his film. I did everything, however I did get some animation help from David Normal on shot 5. All in all it was a huge amount of work. For rendering, I used Max's scanline renderer.
- 01/2001
I worked on this piece along with my team at RevFX. I created all the object animation and camera moves.
- 04/2001
I conceived, boarded, animated, rendered and composited this piece with the help of one partner at RevFX. It aired at the opening of the conference on Streaming Media in 2001.
- 01/2002
I created a few of the shots inside this complex piece in collaboration with my team at RevFX in San Francisco. My section started with the skateboarder pumping across the sculpture court with the disco light sidewalk, and going up to the moment where he is frozen in mid air. For my part, I did all the 3d, compositing, and fx.
- 04/2006
I created this commercial for a cardiac center while working at Two Headed Monster. I did all the the work, from boards, to 3d to compositing. The fractal flames were made using AEflame plugin for After Effects.
- 01/2002
I created this suite of 3 station ID bumberps for the Sci Fi Channnel. I did all of the work without any assistance.
- 07/2006
I created 2 pieces for Target combining 3d animation and motion graphics. I did all the work for this piece, from boards to final comp, alone.
- 05/2006
I created and rendered 3d elements for this suite of station IDs for MTVs South Asia channel. The design and compositing were done by the team at Crook.tv.
- 12/2006
I created this sequence of animations showcasing Ford's 2007 premiere vehicle, the Edge, while working for Two Headed Monster. I did all the animation, most of the modeling (not the car), rendering (vray), and compositing.
